Christmas at 4,848 feet is the trip people plan a year out. The Village does the tree lighting, carols by the fire, a visit from Santa on the 24th, live music, and lights on everything, and the lifts are usually spinning on real snow by then. Our seven homes cover every version of the week: ski out the door at 305 Soaring Eagle, night skiing and tubing at 1208 Silver Creek, a whole log cabin with a private hot tub at Timbers 3 or Timbers 5, or a five-minute walk to the Village lights from the Summit condos.
Our holiday-week dates release on our own schedule, not the day the resort posts its calendar. If the calendar below says not yet released, text us and you get first look before the dates open to anyone else. Holiday weeks carry a longer minimum stay than a normal weekend; the calendar on each home page shows it.
Two honest notes. Dinner reservations at 10 Prime and Appalachia Kitchen go early for the holiday week, so book the table when you book the home. And the last full grocery is down the mountain in Marlinton (30 to 40 minutes) or Elkins (about an hour), so the Christmas dinner shop happens on the drive in.

When do your Christmas week dates open for booking?
On our own schedule, usually well ahead of the week, and not necessarily the day the resort posts its calendar. If a home shows not yet released, text us. We keep a first-look list and you hear before the dates open to everyone.
Is there a minimum stay for Christmas week at Snowshoe?
Yes, longer than a normal weekend. The exact minimum is on each home's calendar, and we do not print a number here because it can differ by home and by year.
What happens in the Village at Christmas?
The tree lighting, carols by the fire, Santa on December 24, live music, crafts, trivia, and lights everywhere, then the New Year's Eve parties to close the week. The resort's events page has the day-by-day schedule once it is posted.
