two cabins, one quiet neighborhood
Two of our seven homes take dogs: Timbers 3 and Timbers 5, across the street from each other in the Timbers, a quiet ten-home neighborhood on South Mountain with a walk loop toward the Soaring Eagle lift. Here is how it works, where to walk, the one Snowshoe event built for dogs, and where the vet is.
The short version
Dogs stay at Timbers 3 and Timbers 5 only. The pet fee is $250 per stay, paid at booking, and every dog is approved ahead of time. Cats, birds, and other pets are welcome too, at the same fee, just tell us what you're bringing. The full pet terms are on the policies page.
Where your dog can stay
The two Timbers cabins
Both are whole log homes with a private hot tub and a fireplace, and the walk to the Soaring Eagle Express starts from the driveway. Timbers 3 has two dedicated parking spaces; Timbers 5 has a 1.5-car garage plus three more in the driveway, four vehicles total. The short version, with the live calendars, is on pet-friendly cabins at Snowshoe.

Ask first, every time
Tell us your dog is coming when you book, or text us the breed and size. We approve in writing before you arrive, so nobody is surprised at the door.
$250, paid at booking
One pet fee per stay, charged with the booking, not at checkout. It covers the extra clean. Damage, if any, is billed at cost under the pet agreement.
Bags are on us
We added doggy-bag stations outside the cabins, so you do not need to pack a roll. Please use them; the neighborhood is small and everyone knows whose dog it was.
Leash on, outside
Outside the home your dog stays on a handheld leash with a person on the other end, and is never tied up outdoors. Inside, the house is yours.
The neighbors are close
The Timbers is ten homes on a quiet loop. A dog that barks at the window all afternoon carries. If yours is a talker, take them along.
Bring the crate
If your dog is used to a crate at home, bring it. A new house, a fireplace, and deer walking past the window is a lot for the first night.

The Timbers loop
The Timbers is a quiet ten-home neighborhood, and the road through it makes a natural loop that runs toward the Soaring Eagle lift. Out the door, around the loop, and back before the coffee is cold. Keep the leash short at the bends; it is a shared road.
Winter: boots with grip for you, and a towel by the door for the paws.

A holiday-weekend Sunday in late May or early July
A chill 5k around the Village and spruce trails for you and your dog. Go as fast or as slow as your pup wants. Both Timbers homes are pet friendly, so this one is basically built for our guests.

Walks worth the drive
The national forest and the state parks around the mountain are where our own dog walks go. We have not confirmed leash and trail rules for every one of these, so check the park's site before you go, and keep the leash on where it is asked for.
Cow Pasture Trail

Borders the Cranberry Wilderness, a longer, quieter trail out of the Cranberry Glades area.

Falls of Hills Creek Trail

Three waterfalls, the lower falls (63 ft) is West Virginia's second-highest. Starts paved and accessible, then continues via stairs and boardwalks.

Seneca Rocks Hiking Trail

Restaurants and shops on the mountain set their own rules for dogs, and they change with the season. Ask at the door, and use the dining guide for takeout back to the cabin on the nights the answer is no.
If something goes wrong
The nearest vet is in Marlinton
Greenbrier Veterinary Hospital has a Marlinton location, about 45 minutes down the mountain. Check the clinic's own site for the current phone and hours before you need them, and text us on the way; we know the road.
Pack your dog's records and your own vet's number. Cell signal fades on the climb, so save both before you leave home.

Which Wander Luxe homes allow dogs?
Timbers 3 and Timbers 5, the two cabins in the Timbers neighborhood on South Mountain.
The five condos (107D, 202D, and 103C Summit, 305 Soaring Eagle, and 1208 Silver Creek) are in buildings whose HOA rules do not allow pets, and we cannot make exceptions there.
How much is the pet fee at Snowshoe with Wander Luxe?
The pet fee is $250 per stay, paid at booking.
It covers the extra clean; any damage is billed separately at cost, as the pet agreement in your booking spells out.
Do I need to tell you my dog is coming?
