Every guest asks. The short version: there is one small grocery at the Village and no gas on the mountain, so do your big shop at the last full store on your route and fill the tank at Slaty Fork. Here is exactly where.

Kroger or Walmart Supercenter, Elkins
Your last full grocery store. About 1 hour 15 minutes before the mountain. Do the big shop here.
Dollar General, Slaty Fork
The most real store near the base for pantry staples, paper goods, and snacks.
Par Mar, Slaty Fork
Fill the tank here. There is no gas on the mountain. Ice, firewood, beer, and forgotten basics, open late.
Wildcat Grocery, the Village
A short drive or shuttle ride from your home. Basics and top-ups at resort prices.
On the mountain

Drive: A five-minute walk from the Summit condos, or about a minute if you drive. About two minutes driving from the Timbers cabins and 305 Soaring Eagle
Milk, eggs, bread, snacks, beer and wine, firewood, basic toiletries, a small produce shelf. Resort prices, but it saves the drive down.
Hours shrink in the closed seasons. In April, May, and November, plan to arrive already stocked.

1208 Silver Creek guests have a convenience store downstairs in the lodge. The Summit condos are a five-minute walk from Wildcat. The Timbers homes and 305 Soaring Eagle are a short drive from the Village, and the free resort shuttle runs in season.
Both sit in Slaty Fork where Route 66 meets US-219, the last stops before the climb.

The most real store close to the mountain: pantry staples, paper goods, cleaning supplies, snacks, some frozen and dairy. No fresh meat counter, limited produce.

Drive: At the bottom of the mountain road
The closest gas to Snowshoe. Ice, firewood, beer, coffee, hot food, and the things you forgot. There is no gas station on the mountain itself.
Hours: Mon to Thu 8am to 10pm, Fri and Sat 8am to 11pm, Sun 8am to 10pm. Check before a holiday.
Fill the tank here on the way up. Winter idling, the shuttle-free days, and the drive to Marlinton all add up.

Drive: About 30 to 40 minutes south of the resort
The last true grocery store coming from the south: meat, produce, a real bakery aisle. The right big-shop stop for anyone arriving from Lewisburg, Richmond, or Charlotte.

Drive: About an hour north of the resort
The big-shop stop for anyone arriving from Pittsburgh, Morgantown, or DC by I-79. Full supermarket with a pharmacy.

Drive: About 50 miles, roughly an hour

An independent local service shops your Walmart pickup order in Elkins and drives it up to the home, beer and wine included with ID. You place the Walmart order yourself, pay their delivery fee, and email them the details. Orders scheduled for a morning pickup arrive the same day.

Yes. An independent Snowshoe grocery delivery service picks up Walmart pickup orders in Elkins and brings them to your door for a flat fee by order size.
Order the morning before you want it. We do not run the service; check it is operating for your dates.
Every Wander Luxe home has a full kitchen with a dishwasher and a coffee maker, plus the pots, pans, and basics you need to cook.
Five of the seven have a grill; 305 Soaring Eagle and 1208 Silver Creek do not. You will find what you need to cook for the whole group.
Bring anything specific: coffee you like, spices, specialty diet items, and a cooler for the drive.
Buy the heavy and cold things at your last full store on the way in, then top up at Wildcat or the base stores.
